#12 Use of Michelin Stars for Promotion is Forbidden
One of the strictest and rather bizarre rules of the Micheline Guide is the prohibition of promotion. According to the Guide, the restaurants cannot use Michelin stars to promote their business.
That is, they must not display this award at their eatery or the digital site.
Michelin suggests that recognizing the eatery names in the Guide is marketing in itself. Therefore, the restaurants do not really need to use the stars for advertisement.
If any restaurant is caught doing so, it will be stripped of the Micheline stars and removed from the list.
