#20 Roman Sword
In 2015 a fisherman discovered what looked to be a Roman sword in the waters just offshore of Oak Island. Apparently, the fisherman hauled it on his boat and kept it a secret fearing Nova Scotia’s laws regarding retrieving treasures from shipwrecks.
After the finder’s death, relatives of his came forth with the sword and experts performed an array of tests on it. An XRF analyzer revealed that the sword had the same metallic characteristics that were similar to Roman artifacts.
Finding the sword was predicted to rewrite history as it put Romans in the New World before Columbus, however, later examination revealed that it was merely a replica of a 2000-year-old original.
