Korat, Si Sawat, Malet. These are all names for the same cat breed that many Thailanders hold dear to their hearts.

Believed to bring good luck prosperity and fertility, depictions of this silver-blue cat with emerald green eyes on walls and inscriptions date all the way back to the 14th century. Currently these beauties go from $600 to $800 if bought from a reputed breeder.

Korats don’t display a solitary nature and can develop separation anxiety if left alone for too long. They bond closely with people around them and tend to be possessive about them in front of others.
