4. The Taj Mumbai, 26/11
It was the unfateful day on 26th November 2008, when the whole nation prayed for the lives of their loved ones stuck in the Taj hotel, Mumbai in India. The remembrance of one of the deadliest attacks still sends a shiver down the spine.
It was as if the devil had taken over the bunch of teenaged gunmen, who opened the fire killing over 170 people and injuring more than 300. The shooting and mass killing went off for three days, finally killing the 9 masked gunmen and taking others as hostages.
This particular attack drew condemnation from all over the globe and made terrorism come into the limelight. It is still considered the biggest mass shooting in the world.
