11. Parliament attack, India
On a usual December morning of 2001, the world witnessed an unusual incident of mass firing at the Parliament of India, New Delhi. The unusual thing about it was that no one had earlier dared to target any constituency or assembly anywhere in the world.
This incident led the world to question the national security and the audacity of the gunmen who were a part of a terrorist group.
It lasted for around 30 minutes and as a consequence, all the five gunmen got neutralized just right outside the main entrance of the building. Around 10 people lost their lives in this incident including Delhi police officers, journalists, and national security guards.
