#27 Skellig Michael: Ireland
The Skelling Michael mountain shot to fame when it was used as the shoot location for Star Wars – tourists decided to throng to the spot to experience it for themselves. But what they didn’t realize was just how dangerous it would be to reach there!
First, you have to sit through a one-hour-long boat journey through high tides and rough waters. Then the real ordeal begins – 600 ancient vertical steps that go right up to the mountain with no safety railing.
The steps are over a thousand years old, making the area prone to falling boulders and rocks. Also, you will find no water, food, or toilet facilities for the visitors, making you even more miserable. In fact, these risky conditions led to the death of two tourists recently.
