#30 The Long Cycle-Life Nickel-Hydrogen Battery By Olga D. González-Sanabria
Olga D. González-Sanabria, an American engineer, is stationed at the NASA Glenn Research Center. She is tasked with planning as well as directions several integrated services.
Interestingly, she is also the highest-ranking Hispanic woman at the NASA Glenn Center at Cleveland. She played a crucial role in developing the Long Cycle-Life Nickel-Hydrogen batteries.
These batteries are used in the International Space Station. Further, nickel-hydrogen batteries provide a very long cycle life of close to 40,000 cycles. Such batteries also offer long operating life in several satellite applications.
If you ever visit the International Space Station, you’ll know whom to thank for the power!
