4. Get used to cleaning up

A significant concern with short-term rentals is the potential for a bad guest every now and again. There is a real possibility that one of your temporary tenants will trash your place, or, at a minimum, leave it in less than ideal shape upon their exit. Be prepared to clean up after each stay, more so than you might otherwise need to. Also, if you encounter an especially bad guest, know you have some recourse through the insurance offered by the hosting site in terms of getting your property back to normal.
