Published in the 1400s, the Gutenberg Bible happens to be the very first completed book that was mass-printed using the movable plates printing method. The printing of this book ushered in a new revolution of printed books in the world.

So it’s only natural that it would enjoy quite a huge price tag, and it does! In 1987, a Japanese bookseller purchased one of the remaining incomplete versions of the Gutenberg Bibles for $5.4 million.
