30 Beautiful But Forbidden Places On Earth

Zone Rogue, France

#20 Zone Rogue, France

The world wars were a time of cruelty and pain. Neither world war ended without an immense number of casualties, both short-term and long-term.

One such area that has been left inhabitable by WW1 is Zone Rogue in France. Also known as the Red Zone, it is one of several places in North-Eastern France that are restricted and remain uninhabitable.

After WW1, the area was marked as being too ravaged by war. The amount of human and animal remains and active weapons of war that remain in the area have contaminated both its land and water.

No activity takes place in this area. With its history and current status, Zone Rogue is best left alone.
